2008 GFL Officials

   21 April, 2008 Football Officials: The Gwinnett Football League is in the process of accepting applications for Football Officials for our 2008 Football Season. Enclosed is the 2008 GFL Officials Application, Contractor Agreement and Consent Release Form. Please fill them out and return them by June 1st. With the growth of the GFL we are anticipating the need for additional crews and officials this year. If you know of someone who is interested in becoming a GFL Official, please have them contact me via e-mail at runderwood@gwinnettfootball.com or have them download the application packet from the GFL website. Applicants selected will need to sign the GFL Official’s Contract and pay their $50.00 yearly dues. Dues can be mailed with your application or paid at our training session in July/August. Again this year our program will be conducted through an Independent Contractor Agreement with each official. Applicants shall be responsible for furnishing their own uniform and equipment needed to perform official duties. Officials pay will be $35.00 per game for “electronic clock operator”, and $40.00 per game for officiating on field. The GFL Season begins August 16th with a Jamboree and the regular season begins August 23th for 9 weeks plus 4 additional weeks for playoffs/championship. The GFL shall have the sole authority to certify, appoint, contract and dismiss any GFL Official subject to the Constitution and By-Laws of the GFL. This year we are expanding and improving our officials training camp. We will be conducting two training sessions that will cover: rules, mechanics, signals, clock operation & positions . All officials are required to attend one session. Sessions are mandatory for all GFL officials regardless of years of experience and/or high school certification. Lunch and drinks will be provided, therefore, we need a head count of officials attending the clinics. Please notate which clinic you will attend on your registration form. The tentative dates are subject to change: First session: Saturday July 16th 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Second session: Saturday August 2nd 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM The location for the training sessions has not been finalized.
